SAPL wins €1.5m French Ministry of Justice shield contract
The Normandy manufacturer will supply anti-riot shields designed for narrow corridors and cells under a four-year contract with the French Ministry of Justice.

French law-enforcement equipment manufacturer SAPL has secured a €1.5m, four-year contract with the French Ministry of Justice to supply anti-riot shields for use in correctional facilities.
The Normandy-based company will provide a shield configuration developed for confined operational environments, including narrow corridors and cells where personnel may need to maintain protection and control at close range.
The selected design incorporates additional upper and lower grip handles, allowing officers to hold and control the shield from different positions while retaining its protective function.
SAPL said the contract reflected its focus on developing equipment around the practical needs of institutional users.
“This award reflects the strength of specialist expertise developed and maintained in France,” said Emilie Lefebvre, Directrice Générale of SAPL. “Our objective is to provide ministries and correctional personnel with equipment that responds to the realities of their work, from the design stage through to operational use.”
The award reinforces SAPL’s institutional programme in France. The company retains production, technical development and specialist know-how in Normandy, while drawing on the wider industrial resources and international reach of the Chiappa Group.
SAPL develops and manufactures personal-protection and law-enforcement equipment.
