Hornady family honored with Legacy Award

The Hornady family has received the Legacy Award from the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation, recognising their long-standing generosity, community involvement and contribution to the Grand Island area. The award was presented during the Foundation’s Gift of Legacy celebration on October 30, 2025, at Riverside Golf Club.

“Our family is incredibly honored by the recognition and award. Grand Island has always been home to us, and giving back has always been a part of what our family believes in,” said Steve Hornady, president of Hornady. “We’ve been blessed by this community, and it means a lot to help make Grand Island stronger for the next generation. We’re indebted to those who volunteer, the people who put the projects together, those are the heroes. We are honored to help you do the important work. We thank you.”

Kyle Overturf, president of the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation Board of Trustees, highlighted the family’s impact on the community. “I cannot image Grand Island without the Hornady family,” he said. “Their support runs through every vein of our community and their partnership with the foundation has made them the very heart of Grand Island.”

The Gift of a Legacy celebration recognises individuals and families whose philanthropy, endowments and community leadership have created lasting benefits. The event brought together donors, community representatives and supporters to acknowledge the Hornady family’s influence and the Foundation’s mission.
