The 25 X 47 Lapua is derived from the 6.5 X 47 Lapua, long regarded as a top performer in precision rifle shooting. By necking down the parent case to accept .257 caliber (6.35 mm) bullets, the cartridge delivers a balance of speed, accuracy, and barrel life.
