In a consumer study conducted by the industrial trade group the Archery Trade Association, findings revealed that 34 percent of the 23.8 million Americans active in archery are female. As gender is the often considered to be the most critical variable of market segmentation, the archery industry’s product development trends in gear, clothing and services specifically tailored to the preferences of female consumers would seem to be on target.
