Your Guide to the 2020 SHOT Show
Gun Trade World gives you the lowdown on this year’s SHOT Show in Las Vegas to make your life that little bit easier as you’re walking the packed halls of this must-attend global trade event.
For those of you who have been living underground for the past 41 years, America’s SHOT Show – short for Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show – takes place each January in the party city of Las Vegas.
The show, owned by the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation), attracts around 60,000 trade-only visitors, who can enjoy roaming the vast halls looking for new products to stock and meeting with partners new and old.
It’s a big show. You need to plan where you’re going and who you’re going to meet beforehand, else you’ll get swallowed up by the show’s vastness. If you’re a retailer, here are some exciting parts of the show for you to look out for.

Help SHOT to help you
The NSSF is committed to making the SHOT Show run as smoothly as possible for you but there are a few things you can do to help out, as NSSF senior vice president and chief marketing officer Chris Dolnack explains: “As a SHOT Show exhibitor, we know you have a lot invested in the show and we want you to get the most out of that investment. To do that we need you to input accurate and up-to-date information during registration for all people attending the show, including real first and last names, unique email addresses, correct job titles, and accurate cell phone numbers.
“The SHOT Show provides a networking and lead-generation opportunity like no other for our industry and that just can't happen without accurate and up-to-date information for all people attending the show,” continues Chris.
“Having valid and unique information — including job titles — for your registrants will ensure your company’s ability to connect with potential customers and vice-versa.
“We want to make your registration process as seamless as possible and providing accurate information this year will make your future registrations a breeze. The information you input during registration this year will pre-populate in the future, making your registrations quicker and easier.
“Your safety at the show is paramount but so too is preparedness,” says Chris. “It’s very important that we have accurate cell phone numbers for everyone in attendance. Should there be an emergency during show hours we will alert you.
“That said, we take the protection of your information very seriously. Your information is never sold, and no one will be spammed. Our focus is to ensure communications are sent to proper individuals and to make the show more valuable for all who participate.”
