Taurus TX22 named Guns & Ammo ‘Handgun of the Year’
Taurus, manufacturer of premium handguns for defence, hunting and sporting applications, has been awarded the 2019 Handgun of the Year by the editors of Guns & Ammo magazine for its Taurus TX22 semi-auto pistol.
“We are extremely honoured that the editors of Guns & Ammo selected the Taurus TX22 to be their Handgun of the Year,” said Taurus CEO, David Blenker. “This award is testament to the innovative approach our designers and engineers take to deliver the kind of handguns our customers tell us they want.”
Criteria for selection included manufacturing standards, overall quality, performance meeting or exceeding design objectives, consumer appeal and value, and delivery.
Innovation was another key benchmark in the selection criteria, in which the Taurus TX22 is well represented. Developed as a full-size polymer frame .22LR semi-auto that performs like a custom-tuned pistol, the TX22 features ergonomic styling that fits a wide range of shooter hand sizes. Other highlights include 16+1 capacity, fully adjustable rear sight, a short, 5lb. trigger pull and an optimised slide weight for minimal recoil and fast target acquisition.
Taurus is based in Miami, Florida and is owned by Taurus Armas, SA, which is a publicly traded company based in Brazil. Taurus Armas SA manufactures a wide variety of consumer and industrial products that are distributed worldwide.
