Prep now for the 2020 SHOT week
As this issue of Gun Trade World hits your mailboxes, we’re just about three months away from the 2020 SHOT Show. That means it’s time for everyone to start finalising plans to attend. Here are some ideas to help you get your travel plans squared away and your week scheduled to afford you the most return on your investment in attending.
International Buyers Program
Once again, the organisers, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is participating in the US Department of Commerce’s International Buyers Program (IBP). This program works to connect US industry manufacturers with buyers from around the world. Buyers are pre-screened by the IBP for participation, making this a high-value program for both manufacturers and these buyers.
For those interested in participating in the IBP, the first thing you need to do is contact a Commercial Service Trade Specialist in your local embassy or consulate. They will help you get registered for the show, help locate the products you’re looking to buy and assist in arranging meetings with those products’ manufacturers.
For more information, visit buyusa.gov/import/ and shotshow.org/international-attendees/.
Attendance at this special SHOT Show forum has been nothing short of phenomenal since NSSF first introduced it as a one-day event in 2017. We made it a two-day event in 2018 and exhibitor space has sold out at an exceptional pace ever since. Designed to connect third-party OEM suppliers – fabricators, tooling makers, machinery, plastics, metal extrusions, logistics, software, etc – with industry manufacturers, this is a must-attend for product designers, researchers and purchasers. It all takes place the day before the show opens and the first day of the show, January 20th and 21st, so plan your flights and hotels accordingly.
More information, including the exhibitor floor plan, can be found at shotshow.org/supplier-showcase/.
Pop-Up Preview and NEXT
Seeking the products with the latest in innovation, technology and even genius? Well, the main show floor has more than 1,600 exhibitors bringing all that and more, but NSSF is also bringing you some of the newest companies making breakthroughs in the industry to SHOT Show.
Our NEXT row of exhibitors will be at the show all week, just up the escalators from the show floor and spread along the hallway outside the NSSF Press Room and Member’s Lounge.
On Wednesday, January 22nd, we’ll once again host a Pop-Up Preview of even more new exhibitors.
Mark your calendars and make sure to take the time to visit the Palazzo Ballroom on the Venetian’s fifth floor, because this is a catch-them-while-you-can, one-day-only special event.
SHOT Show Hotel Rooms—Book Now Before Best Deals Are Gone
NSSF has partnered with numerous hotels throughout the city, with a large concentration on the Strip, to provide best-rate reservations to our industry members attending SHOT Show. If you book with the SHOT Show headquarters hotel, the Venetian/Palazzo, or one of the other nearly 20 hotels for which we’ve negotiated best pricing through our partner onPeak, your benefits include:
· No penalty fees for cancellations or reservations
· Reserved blocks available in hotels to meet every budget, from shoestring to champagne
· Easy management of group reservations
· No booking fees
· Bookings are in real-time, which means if onPeak displays it, it’s there, and you won’t get a page that says, “Sorry, this rate is sold out.”
· Participation in hotel reward points programs are uncompromised
· Shuttle service to the Sands Expo Center
· Discounted tickets for the Las Vegas Monorail
· Concierge services, including pre-arrival accommodations, show tickets, restaurant reservations, spas, golfing and more
· Your room will be there when you check in. No scams, no empty promises.
That’s a long list of benefits but, aswith most good things, there’s a limit. As the editors sent this issue to press, NSSF’s reserved blocks at several popular hotels are sold out. That doesn’t mean you can’t get a room at those hotels but rooms NSSF reserved at the best rate for those attending SHOT Show have been sold out. Take a look at the onPeak list (shotshow.org/hotel-and-travel/) of available hotels and rates then click through and make your reservation. You’re sure to save time, money and headaches by taking care of this now.
